cuddles

I have learnt to sleep watchfully
To wake up in mid,
Pull her closer
So that I could smell her hair
And hear her breathe
As she cuddles back
Folding and curling into me
Sometimes she would smile
And if she did,
she wouldn't remember
I would watch her
And wait for her to roll away
In between her cuddles and drifting
I have lived a million years
Waking and wanting
To put her back to my chest
Kissing her head
